how can I feel miserable when I have such beauty before me?

i took this photo on 19 July 2007, last thursday. do you remember that I began this blog specifically to follow the book, 'Finding Water'? I have only just remembered that myself, but oh boy, has water found me!! I am sitting in the middle of Worcestershire in the 'summer' of 2007, a time that will be written in the history books, in whatever form they take. who knows? rain, rain & more rain has fallen over the last six weeks here. more rain than I could imagine, falling hard & unrepentantly. flooding on a previously unknown scale. it is the most bizarre experience.

i so look forward to seeing this sunlight again.

i am safe & dry. i am fortunate. i feel shocked. i'm still delivering meals on wheels ( a month into my new job, I am more of a driver than an office worker! it suits me better :-) ), although not quick enough today. some had already eaten by the time i got there. i could cry, and probably should.

i hope you are all well & happy, and that you enjoy my photograph of the beautiful miniature rose that has kept me smiling through the rain! Angels come in many forms...

i thank mine xXx

Oh My Word! I GOT A JOB!!!!!!!

I went for the interview last Thursday (I’ve been for so many and not heard back that I stopped mentioning them here) and had practically given up on hearing from them now, after a week (it feels like a long time), but the phone rang half an hour ago and it was a lovely girl called Caroline, offering me the job as her assistant! Wahey!!!!!!

It’s very few hours to begin with - 8 hours a week (2 days, 4 hours a day), which is perfect for me to get back in the swing nice & gently, still be able to look after Stan properly and who knows, it could lead to more hours eventually… I haven’t even started yet and I’m already hoping! :)

Admin Assistant will be my proper title (haven’t had one of those for ages!) - working for the WRVS, a long-established organisation who provide ‘Meals on Wheels’ for the elderly and infirm, amongst other things now, I notice from the website. I know I would like to do that - deliver the meals to the old folk - and may be called to do so when volunteers can’t make it..

Anyway, I have to go & see Caroline at 10am tomorrow, with my driving licence, passport, birth certificate, etc, etc… and have a look at their computer programme, which I’ll need to learn my way around. I am so excited, I can’t tell you! It’s 2 years since I had a job and it feels like Christmas! :)

My Mum & Dad were here when I got the call, and we have all been jumping for joy! And, I’ll be able to pay for Josh to have some driving lessons after his 17th birthday in June!! Thank Goodness for the Angels - they are well & truly looking after me lately!! :D

Must be off now, but I couldn’t wait to share this news! Hope you all have a real highlight to your day today, too!

Love to All xXx

(almost) dead Oak & baa lambs

Originally uploaded by suesviews.

I took this photo last Saturday. It sums up Spring for me - beautiful blue sky (after months of grey skies, it is such a relief to have blue overhead again!), the glorious green of new shoots, and newborn lambs, skipping behind their Mum. :) Gorgeous, and the ancient Oak is an incredible example of perseverance! Still trying to produce new growth, in spite of its advanced age. It must have seen so many Springs....

Love to All xXx
